Author Guidelines

The Editorial Board of FORUM welcomes article submissions that adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Article Types

We accept manuscripts in the following categories:

  • Research Reports
  • Conceptual Studies
  • Theory Applications

 2. General Guidelines

  • Submitted articles must be original and unpublished.
  • Manuscripts should be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
  • Articles must be typed on A4-sized paper (21 x 29.7 cm), single-spaced, using Times New Roman, 12 pt font.
  • Set margins to 3 cm on the top and left sides, and 2 cm on the right and bottom.
  • Articles may be written in English or Indonesian.
  • The similarity index (checked via plagiarism detection software) must not exceed 20%.
  • All references and citations should use footnotes.

 3. Title

  • The title must reflect the philosophical or theological perspective(s) applied in the discussion.
  • It should be written in English or Indonesian and consist of a maximum of 15 words (excluding prepositions).
  • Subheadings are not allowed.
  • The title should be formatted in Times New Roman, 14 pt, bold, centered, with only the first letter of each word capitalized, except for prepositions.

 4. Author’s Name and Institution

  • Author names must be written in full, without academic titles or positions.
  • The complete name of the institution should be included.
  • Only one email - that of the corresponding author - will be listed as the contact person.

5. Abstract

  • The abstract must be written in two languages: Indonesian and English.
  • It should contain 100 - 200 words.
  • Include 4 - 5 keywords, with each keyword or phrase separated by a semicolon (;).

6. Introduction

  • The Introduction should include the research background, a discussion of how the work relates to existing studies in similar themes, and the theoretical framework employed.
  • It should conclude with a clear statement of the issues to be discussed.
  • The Introduction must not exceed 3 pages.

7. Research Method

  • This section should provide a systematic and detailed description of the research methods used for data collection and problem analysis.

8. Results and Discussion

  • This section must present the analysis, synthesis, and author’s arguments based on the research findings.
  • Authors should build clear and structured arguments to demonstrate their points.
  • Discussion of each aspect of the issue is welcomed, and authors may add sub-sections as needed.
  • A separate literature review section is not necessary.

9. Conclusion

  • The Conclusion must clearly state the answers to the research questions, reassert the main arguments, and provide a critical reflection on the overall issues discussed in the manuscript.

10. References

  • References must follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th Edition (full notes).
  • All cited references should be listed in a Bibliography at the end of the manuscript, arranged alphabetically and chronologically.
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley.
  • It is also recommended to use Grammarly for language editing and a plagiarism checker such as Turnitin.

11. Authorship

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • The manuscript is original and unpublished.
  • It is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • It will not be withdrawn during the review process.
  • It complies with the journal’s Publication Ethics Policy, which can be accessed [here].

SUBMISSION PROCEDURES

Authors must submit their manuscripts to FORUM through the following procedure:

  1. Manuscripts should be submitted via the Online Submission System on the FORUM e-journal portal [here].
  2. Authors must first register as an author by selecting the "Author" role in the Register section, or directly [here].
  3. After completing the registration, log in as an author and click "New Submission". The submission process consists of five steps: (1) Start, (2) Upload Submission, (3) Enter Metadata, (4) Upload Supplementary Files, and (5) Confirmation.
  1. In the Start section, select "Article" as the Journal Section and check all required items.
  2. In the Upload Submission section, upload the manuscript file in the required format.
  3. In the Enter Metadata section, fill in all required information including author data, affiliations, manuscript title, abstract, and keywords.
  4. In the Confirmation section, carefully review all submitted information, then click "Finish Submission".

SUBMISSION PREPARATION CHECKLIST

Before submitting a manuscript, authors must confirm compliance with the following requirements. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines may be returned to the authors for revision:

  1. The submission file is in Microsoft Word (DOCX) format.
  2. URLs for references have been provided where available.
  3. The text is single-spaced, uses Times New Roman, 12 pt, employs italics rather than underlining (except for URLs), and all figures/tables are embedded in the text at appropriate points.
  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements as outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  5. Instructions for ensuring a blind peer review have been followed.
